Yesterday 7 Dec 2007

Jodi is doing well today. Her spirits are high, and so is her temperature. The doctors think she has a secondary infection. They are doing cultures to see what type of infection. We are all praying it's something that is treated easily. She was going to be transitioned to 3N stroke unit today, but probably wont' go until Sunday or Monday now. Robert is hoping Jodi will be able to see her kids soon. Aleq will be going up soon and Tommy will get a 20 second visit in the coming days. We are holding a fast on Sunday specifically for her to regain the ability swollow.

The doctor informed Robert that the next 3 months are critical to her recovery, as most of what will return (easily) will be in the next 3 months. After that it's a lot more work and much more difficult to regain (although not impossible). They had Jodi on her feet again yesterday and she was able (with assistance) to walk out of her room and back. This is hard for her as she has no balance. She is tough! more to come.

I forgot to add, she has been bleeding from her Trach. This was made worse because she is on high levels of blood thinners. They did however, get the bleed to stop, although they have to watch it closesly.
