February 10th

, Jodi is having a little withdrawal from the pain meds. She is having bouts of anxiety related to that issue. She actually stood on her own for two 5 minute periods yesterday. WOW! She continues to make small improvements. She thought that she only had to keep her cap on her trach for 24 hours before they would take the trach out. She made it that long and then we found out that she actually needed to make it for 48 hours. She has almost done it twice but it is so hard at night. She has had to take it off by 2 or 3 AM. She will make it soon enough I am sure. The idea at this point is that she will come home with a wheel chair, a walker, hand rails for the bath, and a few other things. She will live with me for 6-8 months until she can feel secure in her own home with her kids. It will be good for her to be able to see Ana Jain and bond with her and see her children more often. She will most likely have some home health care set up for her and I will take her to Re-hab several times a week. All this will keep us busy but it will seem nice to be home again where she will feel less like a patient and more like a real person that is getting better every day.
