Yeah! Jodi had a fairly good night last night and a moderate day today. I was expecting that she might have another tough day with more antibiotics etc. due to the aspiration yesterday. As of yet, she does not need antibiotics, her oxygen saturation levels were good and she has no temperature. Her lungs sound much better. The x-rays show that she has a larger plural effusion and they are watching it. She had a lot of nausea today which somewhat limited her physical therapy but she was able to do quite a lot more than I expected she could. She is working so hard to be able to transfer from her wheel chair to her bed and vice versa. She will need to do that on her own so that I do not have to lift her in and out of bed or in and out of the shower etc. when she goes to live with me. She got her brace for her left foot. She will have to wear it six hours every day for about two months. If it does not do the trick, she will have to have foot surgery, but we are optimistic. She and I traveled all over the hospital in her wheel chair and went outside for a few minutes. It is good for her to get out. We went to a small restaurant above the Huntsman cancer center. From there she took in the view of Salt Lake from the restaurants spectacular large windows that over look the valley. Tomorrow, we will go to Primary Children’s hospital and maybe go outside again (depends on the weather). She loves to take tours. Thanks for your prayers, they are helping so much.

Jodi..I am so sorry to read about your couple of setbacks. You are so strong and such a fighter!! What you were able to do in therapy after such a rough night is so amazing to me. I love ya girl!! Heidi
Jodi:
I was watching Into the Wild the other day (if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it). Anyway - there is a great quote that goes a little somethin like, "I heard once that it's important to feel strong. Not to be strong, but to feel strong. To be placed in the most primitive of human conditions and know you can survive." You must know how strong you are. I hope you feel as strong and amazing as we all know you are. I think about you and check on your progress every day. Keep it up, sweetie!
Love,
Jeni
