Hooray! Thanks to all of your prayers and buoying comments, Jodi is finally leaving ICU tomorrow morning and returning to the rehab floor. They came in today and removed all but two tubes; her central and feeding tube. Rehab evaluated her today and there may be a bit of extra work on her foot before she starts her walking again, which could take up to a week. She is extremely happy to be out of the middle ground and have the goal in site again. She even sort of likes my mom's jokes. (my mom is dictating this to me, obviously)
More tomorrow...........

Jodi:
What wonderful news today! Does this mean you can have visitors? Ryley came up while I was reading your page and wanted to know what I was doing. I tried to explain to him that you were in the hospital and making great efforts to get better (it is so hard for me to explain things in 4-year-old language). I showed him the picture of your beautiful boys and told him that you missed them so much and were working so hard to get home and be with them and your little girl. Of course, I was tearing up at this point and Ryley was very quiet. I was waiting for the great, honest words that only a child can offer and I got, "but dad said I have to read a book and I dont want to read a book. I want to play with the Magnetix." Not quite the brilliance I was looking for, but it made me smile. Hope you are smiling today.
Love,
Jeni Hammond
Great news, Jodi! I'm so happy to hear of such a positive step again. You have been working so hard, and hopefully it is paying off again. I think about you all the time, and I would love to come see you. Robert, Connie, Matt and the rest of the family, thank you again for sharing your and Jodi's daily struggles and joys with us, so we may still feel connected to one we love so much. Love and prayers, always, Karen.
p.s. I hope the move back to rehab means you can kick the lovely hospital gown and wear clothes again!
