Thursday

Jodi is so happy to be back to rehab. She has quite a bit of catching up to do to get back where she was before she left rehab. Unfortunately, she has to struggle with the dropped foot now, which means until they can deal with that issue she will not be able to begin her walking goals. They are giving her botox in her left calve and ankle to relax those muscles so that they can stretch them. She will get there but it may be a couple of weeks. She will also need to wear a brace when she does walk. At least for a while. She has another infection in her right eye so they came in and treated it again as well as sewed it partially shut once more. Speech therapy was thrilled that she continued to do her swallowing exercises while she was in ICU. Because of that, she is so close to swallowing on her own. It looks as if it may be two more weeks before she will lose the trach. Whatever, we are just glad to be on the path to recovery instead of in limbo or worse.
