February 17, 2008 Wow! Jodi has had two great days. Yesterday she started the day not feeling too well but was determined to complete her therapy nun the less. She actually turned a corner and was able to do some things that we thought that it would be some time before she would be ready to do such things. Today was the same. She walked with the walker with very little help. She was able to walk 350 feet all total. Part of that distance, the therapist stood in front of Jodi with her hands raised in the air saying “your walking on your own Jodi. See, I am not helping you.” Jodi was truly exhausted when she sat down but she was so excited to have done so well. Jodi felt well enough to attend church with me in the hospital. They have an LDS hospital branch here. We are so grateful for each good day.

Hey Beautiful...
You walked without the therapist's help and washed your hair, I am SO proud of you. I started to cry when I read these last couple of updates, I can just see your AMAZING smile and your excitement at your progress. Your "will" power is out of this world. You and your family are so deserving of these accomplishments.
Thank you so much for the updates.
I miss you tons and continue to keep you and your family in my prayers!!
Love, Stacy Abbott
Dear Jodi and family,
I am so excited to hear of your wonderful progress! Wendy gave me additional updates last week, so it was good to hear more details about how you are doing.
All afternoon I have been thinking about you and how "blessed" you are. My sister-in-law has been in the process of adopting 2 children from Haiti. She got news last night that the baby (1-year-old Widley) passed away in the night from complications from being premature. Her family is devastated by the news and so upset, because if he were here in the US, he would have had far better care and could likely have survived the complications. When I think about you, it is truly a miracle that you are doing so well. Had you been in another part of the world, the outcome could have been much different. But you are here, and you are surrounded by wonderful medical specialists who have been able to help you improve and progress. What a blessing it is for your family that you are here in Utah, and that you are here in their lives.
You continue to be an inspiration to me. I will keep up the thoughts and prayers on your behalf.
Love,
Jodi Brown
