This has been an odd day. Jodi was so sick when I got to the hospital today. She was white as a sheet, nauseated, very dizzy and generally miserable. She tried to do therapy in spite of the situation but spent most of the day in bed. She was not able to go bowling so they are rescheduling and hopefully she can go tomorrow. The Dr. decided that she had gotten too much lasix and she was probably dehydrated. Her Blood pressures were ok but her oxygen saturations dipped a little but she had no fever. Towards evening, she was given some IV fluids and began to feel better. The pulmonary Dr’s came by and ok’d her to have her trach out tomorrow. With all that went on with her today, we were surprised. She is very excited. She will need all of your and our prayers so that she can keep it out. They are putting a “button” into the trach opening to prevent it from closing for a couple of days so that they can be sure that she can go without the trach. She was sincerely disappointed that she could not do her therapies or go bowling. We are very hopeful that tomorrow will prove to be a much better day. We need your prayers!

Hey Superhero, It did my heart a world of good to see you. You have been through so much, sweetie, and I am inspired by your strength. Once the trach is out and the swallowing is back, I'm sure I'll have to stand in line to bring you cinnamon bears, chicken nuggets and chocolate milk. But, I'll gladly stand in that line forever.
When I got home from seeing you, Jack and Isabel really wanted to play ring around the rosie and duck, duck goose. I paused for one moment because there were things I soooo needed to get done around the house, but after our talk, and these stark reminders of what really matters, all of us tumbled around playing games and giggling. So for that reminder, my friend, I thank you. Love and Prayers, Karen
Jodi and Robert,
I wanted to tell you hello and that you're in my prayers.
