Monday, March 11, 2008 It is early AM and Jodi is still asleep. Yesterday, she was doing so much better. It appears that the tube inserted into her small intestine is doing its job. She does not aspirate as easily and all chest x-rays show improvement. They are going to send her back to rehab today and we are hoping that this setback will not hurt her chances of going home this Friday. She is still hesitant to believe that she will ever progress past the point that she is right now. Robert and I just think that we have talked her into believing that she will when she dips into a little depression and is not sure that she can trust us. She keeps telling us that she will stay in a wheelchair for the rest of her life if she can just swallow. She is miserable because she cannot control her secretions and she cannot eat or drink. She is making progress in that area but she cannot see it. Hopefully, it will be a good day for her. I’ll let you know how it goes. Connie
