March 17th

March 17, 2008 It has been a pretty busy day for Jodi. She started therapy at 7:30 AM and then we had to be to the orthopedic surgeon by 1:00 PM. We then rushed to the DMV to get her handicapped tag for parking. By the time we got home, she was exhausted but doing well. She will be having surgery on her left leg and foot on April 2nd, to correct the contracture of her foot. She will be in a cast for four weeks and then she may have to wear a brace for the rest of her life. That was a shock to her but she is adjusting to the idea. Her children will be here soon for dinner and a few hours with her and Robert before bed time. She will be having speech and occupational therapy tomorrow. She still struggles with sleeping due to her having to deal with secretions which she would normally be swallowing, if she could. We take so much for granted. More tomorrow.

Jodi, we met you by chance on St. Patrick's day, (at the Orthopaedic office) but did not make the connection that we know of you through my husband, Dr. Edgley.

We could tell instantly that you are a wonderful person.

We wish you all the best, and are inspired by your experiences and courage.
